A fine quality, late 18th century, mahogany-cased, eight-day Liverpool longcase clock, arched brass dial with engraved floral and cross-hatched decoration to the centre, gilded cast scrolling and foliate spandrels to the corners, applied cartouche engraved for 'Clifton, Liverpool' (John Clifton is recorded by Loomes as working on Fazakerley Street from 1777, died 1794), the dial features a rolling moon aperture above which is an applied silvered plate inscribed 'On Times Uncertain Date Eternity Depends', silvered chapter ring with the engraved date markings for the central calendar, silvered subsidiary seconds dial, matched blued-steel hands, the hood of ornate architectural form featuring a carved and moulded swan-necked pediment (one of the paterae is missing), inset verre eglomise, opening glazed door flanked by reeded Doric columns and two matching half columns, the trunk having quarter reeded columns, full length door with feather veneer pattern, dental moulding and Chippendale style carved decoration, the base with matching feathered mahogany panel, canted and reeded corners, supported on ogee bracket feet, bell striking movement with knopped and ringed pillars appears to be in clean condition with recent gut lines, broken dial pillar mountings show some evidence of previous repair, with pendulum, winding crank and twin weights, height approx. 236 cmCondition Report: Case in very good condition for age, very minor moulding loss to base panel, no woodworm seen. Verre eglomise loose, movement has had previous repairs (bushing) though needs a service. Time, strike, calendar and moon trains appear to work when manually applying pressure.
A pair of Nanking blue and white, crackle glaze vases with oxidised bands to the foot and shoulder, approximately 27 cm (h) and a plate decorated with figures within a floral and diaper border, 30 cm (d). [3]Condition Report: Plate has a few small chips / nibbles to the rim, no cracks, hairlines or restoration. Vases appear in good condition overall, a couple of small rim chips but no significant damage or restoration.

Baillie, working in Falmouth c.1784-95.
A late 19th/early 20th century oak country house entrance hall stand, shaped pediment above a bevelled mirror plate flanked by brass hanging hooks, the central drawer flanked by a walking stick/umbrella provision with drip trays below, carved throughout with mythical beasts, lion masks, sea serpents, leaves and fruit, raised on carved bun feet. Cabinetmakers plaque verso, Hewetson, Milner & Thexton Ltd, Tottenham Court Rd, London. H235cm, W160cm base, (top 190cm) D43cm. The cabinet making firm of Hewetson and Milner, established c.1835, moved to this address in 1871, owned by the City of London Corporation; in 1887, the business was amalgamated as Hewetson, Milner and Thexton Ltd. Their landlords forced a move in 1901 increasing their rent enormously and they were bankrupt by 1907. Overall in very good condition, showing no damage, worm or restorations, only age related wear & tear including surface stain loss, scratches and nicks.The back unscrews from the base, seperating into two pieces.
