Anonymous key-less movement, probably a Vallée des Joux ébauche, 18’’’ lignes, separated bridges with jewels, nickel-finished, beveled and pattern decorated, straight-line lever escapement, bimetallic cut compensated balance with screws, blued Breguet hairspring, index regulation. Minute repeater on gong, anchor governor, extra jewels, winding by slide on the band. Visibile chronograph leverages and push piece at “12”. Diameter Ø: 58 mm Franz Michaelsen was an important dealer of German origin and when he moved to Rome in 1891 he took over Carl Kobel’s business in via delle Convertite. Trained at the Patek during the end of nineteenth century he quickly became, in addition to a well skilled watchmaker, a dealer of the most important Swiss watchmaker manufacturers. Despite the premature death of Michaelsen, the activity continued througout the two World Wars, being acquired by Monetti and later by Hausmann. € 13000
