A Swiss diamond and cultured pearl suite by Gilbert Albert, circa 1960, comprising a collar necklace, ring and pair of ear clips, the design of fluid polished and textured beads, randomly spaced with collet set brilliant-cut diamonds and cream or pink spherical and bouton cultured pearls, the hinged ear clips with post fitting, all stamped with maker’s monogram and ‘750’, necklace length 37.5cm, ring size R, ear clips length 2.5cm. £3,600-£4,000 --- Born in 1930, Gilbert Albert began his career studying jewellery craftsmanship and design at L'Ecole des Arts Industriels in Geneva. In 1955 he became designer and head of Patek Philippe's workshop where he remained for seven years before founding his own atelier in 1962. Der Stammbuchauszug bestätigt die komplette Originalität der Uhr und auch die seltene blaue Zifferblattvariante. Patek Philippe präsentierte bei der 3563 das neue Automatikwerk Kaliber 350 und kombinierte es mit einem integrierten Goldarmband im Geschmack der frühen 1970er-Jahre. Die Position der Krone wurde auf die Rückseite des Gehäuses verlegt, wodurch sie bei Rechts- und Linkshändern gleichermaßen beliebt wurde. Lt. Stammbuchauszug wurde die Uhr 1974 verkauft! Da diese automatische Vollgold-Calatrava eine sehr teure Luxusausführung war, ist sie heute dementsprechend selten und begehrt, insbesondere auch durch ihre Größe von 35mm!

Das uns vorliegende Modell wurde 1952 eingeführt und war außer in Platin auch in Gelb-, Rosé- und Weißgold erhältlich. Die vorliegende Uhr ist eines der interessantesten Exemplare dieser Reihe. Vollständig in 18 Karat Gold gefertigt, mit einem gut erhaltenen und massiven Armband aus Gelb- und Weißgold, ist auch das Gehäuse in erstaunlich gutem Erhaltungszustand. Das zweifarbige Gold-Zifferblatt mit applizierten goldenen Indexen, die mit vier Saphiren im Baguette-Schliff und acht Saphiren im Rund-Schliff besetzt sind, ist eine Seltenheit für eine Uhr aus dieser Zeit und wird deshalb von Kennern auch als „Sapphire Dial“ bezeichnet. Das Kaliber ist das ikonische 9-90 mit Handaufzug, eines der am meisten geschätzten Werke von Patek Philippe. Dieses wahre Sammlerstück wird inklusive Etui und Umkarton versteigert.
