Please note that all sleeves will contain archival stickers from the BBC. The majority of these stickers are 'on top' of the plastic with some 'underneath' (i.e. on the sleeve itself). Containing a reproduction 19x19cm colour photograph of the band, and a 7x10cm address book page bearing the signatures of Jimi Hendrix (dedicated 'Love - Be Groovy'), Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding in black ink. Mounted to cream card with gold and black borders, within a modern gold painted rectangular frame.Provenance: Obtained by the vendor in-person on Monday 29th August 1967 at The Sherwood Rooms, Nottingham. An original unofficial programme for the April 1967 tour featuring the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Walker Brothers, Cat Stevens and Engelbert Humperdinck. There are eight pages which contain images of the artists appearing in the New Musical Express Poll Winners Concert including The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Tom Jones, The Troggs, Dusty Springfield and Donovan, as well as several other touring acts like Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, Roy Orbison, Small Faces, The Hollies and the Spencer Davis Group. The programme measures 21.1cm x 27.7cm (8.3 inches x 10.9 inches). There is creasing and wear. The condition is very good minus.
An extremely rare mini concert poster that was used to promote Woburn Festival that took place at Woburn Abbey, England between 6th and 7th July 1968. Amongst the acts on the bill were the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The poster measures 21cm x 30cm (8.25 inches x 11.8 inches). There is a horizontal crease with some scuffing on the reverse. The condition is very good.
ˑ A pair of LA Special 7A hickory drumsticks which were previously owned by Mitch Mitchell. Mitch Mitchell became a musician through working at Jim Marshall’s drum shop while still at school. Early in his career he gained important experience working with the Pretty Things when he temporarily replaced Viv Prince and as a session drummer for The Who while they were searching for a replacement of Doug Sandom. On the 6th October 1966, Mitch auditioned for the Jimi Hendrix Experience and remained with the group until Noel Redding left the group in June 1969. The drumsticks measure 39cm (15.5 inches) in length. There are signs of wear. The condition is very good. Provenance: from the estate of Mitch Mitchell and sold as lot 41 in the Burstow and Hewett 20th Century Design sale held on the 28th March 2024.
Ë‘ A pair of black and white negatives bearing images of Jimi Hendrix taken during a performance at the ABC Theatre, Aldershot on the 27th April 1967. Jimi appeared alongside Cat Stevens, Engelbert Humperdinck and The Walker Brothers. The condition is mint. These images are being sold with full copyright and will be accompanied by a transfer of copyright letter on Tracks letterhead.
A collection of 1960s and 1970s issues of the Yugoslavian music magazine Dzuboks (Jukebox). Each of the 17 magazines contains articles, images and information (in Serbian) about popular music artists of the time. There are 17 issues dating from 1966 to 1975 including 3 with The Beatles on the cover, 1 with Jimi Hendrix and 1 with The Who. Each magazine measures approximately 23cm x 30.5cm (9 inches x 12 inches). There is wear and tear to the spines, edges and corners. The front and back covers of some have become partially or fully detached. The condition is fair.
A small lined sheet of paper which has been signed by Jimi Hendrix in blue ballpoint pen. The paper measures 6.2cm x 9.5cm (2.5 inches x 3.8 inches). The condition is very good plus. Provenance: accompanied by a letter of authenticity from a photographer who attended the concert describing how the autograph of Jimi Hendrix was obtained at Woburn Abbey.
A rare original t-shirt from the 1970 Isle Of Wight Festival. Amongst the acts of the bill at the festival were The Doors, The Who and Jimi Hendrix. The label reads GRANDAD LONDON. The t-shirt is a size large but would fit more of a small or medium. Mis-shaped at the bottom and the buttons are missing. The condition is good.
