In the 60’s he saw the Beatles at 3 venues which included The King Georges Hall in Blackburn and ABC Cinema in Wigan as well as one other venue possibly Manchester, he would not have left without signatures.He had a ‘pal’ named Ron who was a promoter for many of the groups in the 60’s and it was Ron that got Mike into many venues. Mike would never buy autographs because the excitement for him was meeting the stars.Mike spent a lifetime collecting autographs and it would be fair to say he had a specialist level of knowledge.

MONTEREY POPOne Sheet (27" x 41")Fine Rolled; Artwork by Tomi Ungerer Leacock-Pennebaker, 1968This one sheet, designed by Tomi Ungerer, exhibits moderate handling wear with multiple small tears around the white borders, with some reinforced with tape on the verso as well as a lower right corner tear which has been repaired with tape on the recto. There are many small creases across the lower half which have been concealed by a prior owner with ballpoint pen.Tomi Ungerer was a renowned illustrator, publishing over one hundred books throughout his career. In 1998, he was honored with the prestigious international Hans Christian Andersen Medal for his significant and lasting contributions to children's literature as an illustrator. While Ungerer did not design many film posters, he is most famous for creating the posters for "Dr. Strangelove," as well as illustrating the film's titles.Monterey Pop is a 1968 musical documentary directed by D.A. Pennybaker that stars Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and other stars that performed at the 1967 Monterey Pop music festival in Monterey, California. It was a three-day event that showcased 33 vocalists and bands, including the Who, The Byrds, and Laura Nyro.This lot will be auctioned on Friday, September 13th. Robin Coleman (British B 1963) 'The Real Deal' collage 107cm x 76.5cm frame size, canvas size approx 90cm x 60cm. Mixed media with postage stamps, banknotes, newspaper cuttings. Signed and titled to the reverse. .Coleman is not a formally trained artist, but instead started painting to relieve stress from a debilitating spinal injury. His inimitable style is the result of hours of work involving the painstaking layering of materials such as newsprint, stamps and vintage comic books in order to achieve the final result. His early experimental pieces involved images of Marilyn Monroe, The Krays and Jimi Hendrix. Coleman has exhibited alongside Bansky amongst others at galleries in the UK and abroad in California, Paris, Dubai and Cape Town. Condition report: No signs of damage. Viewing recommended.
