Scarce WW1 Saxon-Weimar Infantry Officers Field Grey Peaked Cap (94th Infantry Regiment Grossherzog von Sachsen 95th Thuringian), red central band with field grey top, red piping to the crown. Complete with original Saxon-Weimar state cockade and national cockade. Green painted peak and leather chinstrap. Grey leather sweatband and cloth lining to the interior. Remains of Hollywood film studios stamp to the lining. At the end of the First World War, many items of Military uniform and equipment were purchased by costume companies in Hollywood, USA. Not un-common to find WW1 German uniform and headdress with such stamps. Many original items were worn in the first version of the motion picture “All Quiet on the Western Front”.
