Lot 1

Two cuts of film from the 1957 movie directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on the novel written by Humphrey Cobb, fourth feature film and second on a military topic made by the director. In the lot also a typewritten letter by Kubrick dated "15 FEB 1975" where the director asks D'Alessandro to pick up some film reels.

Produced for the 1975 film Barry Lyndon and designed by Milena Canonero, the most famous award-winning Italian costume designer in Hollywood who won her first Oscar for best costumes with this movie.

Interpreted by Kirk Douglas, one of the major sponsors, censored by the Hayes Code, was victim of a strong boycott campaign that ended thanks to the approval of President Kennedy. Made in the wake of the Hollywood production of epic colossal, it is still considered one of the hundred most significant American films.. 55.1 x 39.4 in. Condition: Minor defects and wear and tear.

Lot 23

Long cut of the original film The Shining containing the scene in which Wendy, played by Shelley Alexis Duvall, carries Danny, played by little Danny Lloyd. These cuts, given by Kubrick to D'Alessandro, are particularly rare because the director notoriously burned all the leftovers at the conclusion of the editing.

Lot 24

Burgundy corduroy jacket with brown woollen elasticated waistband, shirt collar, 7 buttons, buttoned pockets on the front, L size, inside the label of Margaret Howell. The jacket was chosen by Academy Award-winning costume designer Milena Canonero after Jack Nicholson insisted it should be worn by his character, Jack Torrance, and a small number of it were made for the shooting of the film. This jacket is one of the most iconic stage outfits of American and universal cinema. Nicholson wears this jacket throughout much of the film, as he slowly descended into madness during his stay with his family at the Overlook Hotel, so much so that it is almost imprescidable from his character. “To Jack Nicholson [...] was enough to put on the velvet jacket that Milena had bought him, a minimum of make-up, a touch to the tuft and voilà, Jack Torrance”. Beautiful poster published by N. Moneta for the Italian edition of Lolita. Having immediately become the symbol of one of Kubrick's most controversial films, it has been created by the shots made by Bert Stern on the set of the film, among which the iconic Sue Lyon image with heart-shaped glasses that looks mischievous in the rearview mirror was chosen to publicize the distribution of the film in theaters. . 55.1 x 39.4 in. Condition: Minor defects, wear and tear.

Oil on canvas in wooden frame, titled, dated and signed 'Eyes Wide Shut 1997 Leelee Sobieski' on the reverse. Liliane Rudabet Gloria Elsveta Sobieski, stage name Leelee Sobieski is an American actress of Polish origins. She achieved large recognition in her teens for her performance in the famous movie Eyes Wide Shut directed by Stanley Kubrick as the daughter of  Mr Milich, the costume store owner where Tom Cruise/Bill goes. This painting is an homage of the young actress to the great director, painted during the shooting of the film.   17.9 x 24 in.

Typewritten note dated "Friday 18th January, 1989" with indications to pick up two films respectively at United Artists and Warner Bros: "The Black Stallion", a 1979 film directed by Carroll Ballard, and "Hot Stuff", a comedy by Dom DeLouise produced the same year. In a second note the director wipes out the two films but adds "Emilio, keep Exhorcist", which, as everyone knows, was one of the most successful films of 1973 which marked several generations of film buffs.

Beautiful first edition of the poster published by Rotolito in 1968 for the advertising campaign of Kubrick's masterpiece, based on the subject of Arthur C. Clarke. A touching film, only apparently attributable to the science fiction genre, but with a great emotional impact precisely because of the topicality of the issues addressed. Condition: Minor defects and wear and tear.

Group of 4 travel coupons of Kubrick’s trip to England on the famous Queen Mary Cunard Lines ocean liner, dated '7/21/1965'. On two of the coupons is also specified the first address of the film director in the United Kingdom, the Hotel Normandie in London. In the lot also another first-class "tag" of a journey undertaken by Kubrick from New York to Southampton with the United States Lines in May 1991, with, in this case, the address of his production company, Hawk Films.
