Possibly early 20th c. Notes: We travelled up to Rantepao to go white water rafting down the Sadang river. From Makassar the bus takes 8 or 9 hours, so perched next to chicken coup we set off. The driver had just one cassette tape, a very stretched copy of Abba, played at full volume for the whole trip. Ever since I have never been a fan of Abba. However the rafting was fantastic, 4 days through remote jungle and steep gorges.
