Pair late 19th century pearl and diamond earrings, each with a button-shaped pearl measuring approximately 7.5mm x 8.5mm, each surrounded by fourteen rose cut diamonds in gold collet setting, in fitted box retailed by Heinrich Mau, Dresden CONDITION REPORT Provenance: The earrings are believed to have been an Engagement gift from Dr. Andrew Cassels Brown to Rachel Wilson during his post-graduation medical trip around Europe in 1899. Heinrich Mau was a prominent jeweller in Dresden in the late 19th century. The pearls have not been tested for natural origin and it is therefore for the buyer to form their own opinion as to whether the pearls are natural or cultured. The pearls measure approximately 7.55mm x 8.45mm x approximately 6.9mm deep and 7.52mm x 8.50mm x approximately 7.4mm deep. Both have a good lustre and display pink, blue and green tones. Both pearls have fine hairline cracks / natural imperfections. Diamonds measure approximately 1.5mm diameter. Decorative gold back, no obvious damage or repairs, screw fitting stamped '9c'. Each earring weighs 2.4 grams. Box in good original condition with wear commensurate with age
