A Della Robbia Pottery Cantagalli twin-handled vase by Gertrude Russell, swollen form with applied Dolphin handles to the shoulder, incised with panels of stylised Art Nouveau flowers and foliage, in green, turquoise, yellow and ochre, incised marks and monogram, restored top rim, crack to one handle, 32.5cm. high Literature Peter Hyland The Della Robbia Pottery, ACC books, page 156 figure 166 for a comparable vase.
Undine, a rare Della Robbia Art Nouveau plaque, dated 1902, incised decoration of the nymph Undine amongst stylised flowers against a blue ground with green border, incised to the lower left Della Robbia, and verso incised ship motif with initials DR dated 1902 with further green enamel monogram for Hannah Jones and further incised signatures G.H.S. possibly for George Seddon and E.M.W. for Emily Margaret Wood, 20 cm x 46.2 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There is a shallow chip to the top right hand corner which is approximately 2 cm long x 1 cm deep and a further glazed chip just below which is approximately 5 mm x 1.3 cm in length. There is an older chip to the bottom edge just left of centre which is a glaze chip approximately 7 mm x 5 mm. The sides are glazed and there is a small section of glazing missing to the bottom left edge, this is not a chip just flaking of the glaze. Slightly further along just off centre of the bottom edge there is a further smaller 4 mm x 3 mm glaze chip. The left hand edge has a small chip approximately 2 cm long x 6 mm wide. The right hand edge appears to be free from any post production faults as does the top edge (other than the chip previously mentioned in the top right hand corner), there is however a very small rubbed patch to the very edge of the top left side. There are no apparent cracks or signs of restoration. The glaze throughout is very crazed which should be visible on the web image. There is some residue of what we believe to be grout around the left and right hand edges. Other than those faults mentioned it appears to be in relatively good order.

DELLA ROBBIA; an tin-glazed earthenware vase with flared hexagonal neck and bulbous body painted with three seated figures above stylised flowers, incised mark, also inscribed 'Violet' and with artist's monogram possibly GM, height 23.25cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are small losses to the tips of two of the neck crown points and from each corner of the tricorn collar.

Al frontespizio la nota di mano coeva 'Dono del Sig. S. M.', e il timbro 'Fabroni', ripetuto anche al recto della carta A2. Quattro edizioni che ben documentano il fiorire degli studi agronomici nella Firenze del Settecento, e pubblicati da alcuni membri della celebre Accademia dei Georgofili. Di particolare interesse la rara prima edizione del trattato Della Robbia di Giovanni Mariti (1736-1806), che durante un suo viaggio a Cipro aveva avuto modo di studiare la pianta della rubbia, ricca di pigmento rosso, introducendone poi la coltivazione in Toscana. L'opera è dedicata da Mariti al Granduca Pietro Leopoldo, che è dedicatario di un'altra opera offerta in questo lotto, la memoria Metodo sicuro per distruggere i succiameli di Giovanni Lapi. I. They are mentioned by Pliny the Elder in his De re natura.
Ulysse Besnard Blois (1826-1899) and Emile Balon (1859-1929): a French Faience three footed pot with lobed rim, polychromed decoration styled in the taste of the Italian Renaissance, dated 1905, on three scroll feet, 9cm high 11cm wide, together with a circular Della Robbia style ceramic pottery plaque depicting Jesus as a child swaddled in blue and white cloth, marked Italy 237 and monogrammed, 21cm wide, a majolica / faience four footed pot polychrome decorated with monogram MG, a majolica basket with blue twist handles initialled H.O, numbered 9773, a majolica lamp with brass base and candle electric fitting, and a celadon glaze turquoise tankard of bulbous form with pewter lid and thumbpiece.
