WOOD FOR DELLA ROBBIA; a large earthenware glazed tile decorated with child musicians beside a tree, incised mark to the reverse, with both incised and painted artist's mark to the reverse, 29 x 48cm. Additional InformationThe piece is not marked for Della Robbia, however it is believed that the plaque was made for this factory. There are a couple of tiny surface losses to the glaze, and some scratches around the edge where it has been in a frame. There is also an indistinct impressed name lower left in the decoration, and looking at the colours to the front it is probable that the colours were a lot brighter when the plaque was made.
