A late 19th century Black Forest carved mantle cuckoo clock, with carved and pierced foliate decoration, shaped apron and Gothic bone Roman numerals to the dial, 61cm high CONDITION REPORT: Lot 292 - pediment lacking foliate detailing (old brakes), discoloured with chips to edges, bellows have selotape repairs, pendulum present.
A 19th century Black Forest walnut bracket clock, with three-train fusee movement on wooden seatboard, with cuckoo and quail beneath the eagle and in ornate case. Width 41 cm, height 72 cm, depth 25 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock is currently ticking away and appears to be striking and calling as it should. The quail operates on the quarters and the quail and the cuckoo on the half hours although this should probably be on the full. Both bird calls are clear and good. The clock case is in generally very good condition. There are only very minor losses to the woodwork none of which are of any significance. There is no woodworm. The dial is in good order and there is a single gong on the backboard. As stated, the clock is currently ticking away and in our opinion operating exactly as it should.
An unusual mid 1930's Art Deco German metal alarm clock, the square face set with stylised Arabic numerals and pentagonal subsidiary alarm dial, stamped "Salvos", with square bells and carrying handle, height 15cm, a small cuckoo clock decorated with carved leaves, the circular chapter ring with Roman numerals, height 25cm, and a small oak mantel timepiece, height 18cm (3).
