A gorgeous Harappan vessel from the Indus Valley, ca. 2500 - 1800 BC. It is 5-1/4 in high, 4-1/2 in in diameter, stands on a flat base and features an animated lion separated pursuing a Brahma bull, which has a bird perched on his back. They are set off with a few geometric elements. The flared rim is encircled with further geometric d?cor. Intact, with vivid polychrome paint and good mineral deposits. (IV603)
