An 18thC Doctor Wall period Worcester jug of baluster form, fence pattern, 16cm high and a similar tea bowl decorated flowers in underglaze blue, blue crescent mark to bases (2) Condition Report· There is very light wear and tear on the base of these items however no chips · The Jug and its décor are in good condition however the base of the jugs handle has a 1mm chip to the glaze · There is a 2mm chip on the right hand side of the jugs spout however this is approximately 1mm in depth· The tea bowl is in very good condition, very light wear and tear from usage/age but it does have a minimal glaze chip on the rim of the bowl however this is barely visible and a hairline crack running round the footrim

An Edwardian silver rectangular vesta case, the front inscribed 'South Africa 1900-02, Montis Insignia Calpe, E & F Cor, 2 V.B. The Suffolk Regiment', Birmingham 1902 by Samuel Hales, length approx 5cm, a silver curved rectangular cigarette case with engine turned decoration, Birmingham 1938 by Smith & Bartlam, two other silver cigarette cases and a silver vesta case.
PROKOFIEV SERGEI: (1891-1953) Russian Composer. A.L.S., Serge Prokofieff, one page, to the verso of a postcard, Warsaw, 28th January 1936, to Désiré Defauw, in French. Prokofiev explains to his correspondent in full detail the musicians required for his orchestration, stating `The orchestra for the "Egyptian Nights" requires: pic, 2fe, 2 Ob, Corne Ingl, 2 Cl, Cl.bus, Saxophon Tenore (or Sax. Alto if no tenor available), 2 Fg., C.F, 2 T-be, 4 cor, 3 T-ni, Tuba, timp., 3 men for drums, bells, harp, piano, Quart,´ further referring to his travel days `I am on my way to Strasbourg, after that I play on the 31st at Anvers. I will make my best to reach Brussels after the concert, the 31st, or the day after early in the morning. Leave a written note to me at the palace hotel regarding the rehearsals.´ A good musical content letter. Small overall minor age wear and central fold to the centre. The postcard bears to the right border two binder holes, one affecting only the last letter of Prokofieff´s name. G £300-400 Egyptian Nights (1936-38) is a suite for orchestra by Prokofiev.

19th century AD. After Dassier, lead-alloy cast. Obv: three quarter bust with bonnet and mantle and HENRICUS VIII D G ANG FR ET HIB REX legend followed by small ID designer initials. Rev: a monument with a relief of Hercules demolishing an altar, with papal tiara and keys lying thereon and a fire behind, with Hymen lamenting before, holding a burning torch, with five others extinguished around her and NAT 1491 COR 24 IUN / 1509 MORT 28 IAN / 1547 legend in three lines in exergue. 31.71 grams, 41mm. See MI p.52; no.54. The reverse of the medal shows six torches, five of which are extinguished, to symbolise the six wives of Henry VIII and the one marriage surviving the death of Henry; the breaking of the altar and Papal symbols represent the break with the Church of Rome and the fire behind the altar symbolises the flames to which Henry consigned those who did not acknowledge his supremacy; the originals of this medal are recorded in silver and bronze. Very fine. [No Reserve]

Expertly built with Coach and underframe detail and interior fittings. Powered by an Excellent Motor Bogie. An EMU Model yet to be introduced by Hornby etc and very hard to find built to this standard in working order.

Good Extremely Fine. Extremely Rare, and one of the best preserved of all Corinthian imperial bronzes. Pausanias travelling to Corinth in the 2nd century AD observed: 'In the Corinthian territory is also the place called Cromyon from Cromus the son of Poseidon. Here they say that Phaea was bred; overcoming this sow was one of the traditional achievements of Theseus. Farther on the pine still grew by the shore at the time of my visit, and there was an altar of Melikertes. At this place, they say, the boy was brought ashore by a dolphin; Sisyphus found him lying and gave him burial on the Isthmus, establishing the Isthmian games in his honour'. - Pausanias, Description of Greece 2.1.3, with an English Translation by W.H.S.
