A rare Einco Chiltern Toy Works Master Teddy circa 1915, with blonde mohair head, arms and feet, white, blue and black opaque glass googly eyes, black stitched nose with pink stitched mouth, crossed facial seams, unjointed fabric body with cream knitted jumper with faded strip and brown corduroy trouser --7 1/2in. (19cm.) high (wear and thinning moth damage to body and jumpr) - these bears were marketed and sold in blue felt dungarees and wide collared shirts, the clothes on this bear are certainly old and fit very well and it is possible this might be another version as it was manufactured in war time

Chiltern "Teddy" (St Michael Toys for Marks & Spencer's) vintage teddy bear, blue circular card label to chest- "Teddy" MADE IN ENGLAND and reverse side HYGIENIC "St Michael" TOYS MADE IN ENGLAND, original red ribbon to neck (faded), amber and black glass eyes, vertically stitched black nose, fully jointed, coarse woven cotton pads, black claw stitching, inoperative press squeaker, mohair is worn and balding in patches, particularly to head, front of body and limbs, circular card label is worn and torn in two- repaired by sellotape, otherwise Good, 15"/38cm. NB: This is a rare example of a Chiltern "Teddy" manufactured for Marks and Spencer's during the 1950s. The circular card label is similar in typeface, design and card stock to those used by Chiltern.
