Early 20th c. fishing themed candleholder.Depicts fisherman inspired by THE COMPLEAT ANGLER by Isaac (Izaak) Walton, first published in 1653. This candleholder features seven fishermen on the outside and a willow tree border on the inside. On the rim is the verse THERE STOOD MY FRIEND, WITH PATIENT SKILL ATTENDING OF HIS TREMBLING QUILL. Signed by the artist in the glaze. Doulton backstamp on bottom. Artist: Charles J.
