A Pair of Ault Pottery Vases, shape 118, green, white, mustard and brown glazed, impressed factory mark and 118, 33cm William Ault founded his own pottery in 1887 and in 1890 purchased a number of Linthorpe moulds to Dresser's designs from the liquidation sale. Dresser signed a contract in 1893 to supply designs to Ault.

Dresser’s connection with the pottery ran from 1891-1896. Although this shape was produced after the termination of Dresser's contract it is believed that the design is Dresser's and was with Ault before March 1896.
