Derbyshire Fishing Interest - a Victorian half-fluted pedestal trophy cup, the Derby Angling Association Challenge Cup, domed cover surmounted by a finial cast as an angler on a grassy bank, acanthus grasped fluted scroll handles terminating in flower buds, chased and embossed with flowers and scrolling foliage, to verso with a vacant oval cartouche, knop to stem, egg and dart border, moulded circular base, 53cm high, Frederick Elkington, Birmingham 1879, 70oz gross, ebonised plinth The stand bears numerous winners` plaques, mainly commemorating victories by teams from Derby pubs, many long- forgotten or long-closed, eg. The extant Alexandra , Siddalls Road, and the vanished Old English Gentleman, Grove Street and Castle Tavern, Castle Street.
