(39cm.) high (some wear and repairs to pads) - possibly made by Farnell or a good quality manufacturer, similar in style to the Steiff polar bear which was first manufactured in 1908

A Bing teddy bear from The Cotswold Teddy Bear Museum, with brown mohair, clear and black glass eyes with brown backs, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs, hump and inoperative growler, 1920s - 153?4in. (40cm.) high (balding to head and front, pads re-covered and general wear); and a catalogue for the Bonham’s sale in 1995 - this bear was lot 524 and still retains his tag, in the catalogue he is listed as a 1920s Steiff!
