WW1 British Recruiting Poster “At The Front! Every Fit Briton Should Join Our Brave Men At The Front – Enlist Now", the poster was published by the parliamentary recruiting committee, London, poster No 84. Printers details to the lower corner. Poster has been mounted into a glazed frame. Frame measures 79cm x 54cm.
Handwritten Note by Famous WW1 War Artist Sir William Orpen, the note in ink has his signature to the bottom. On official paper with ink stamp of the Orderly Room AS Corps Kensington Barracks and dated 12 11 16. Note has been folded and shows some wear. The note appears to be written to a Mr Wynham and is complaining about where he is and saying he is not allowed out to do any drawing, maybe this is in response to a commission request.

He was from Dartford in Kent.

British Edward VII 1845 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword, etched blade 32.5", regulation brass hilt, in its leather covered field service scabbard with inked inscription ‘R W D Leslie RAMC'. Good condition, blade worn, extreme tip of scabbard missing. ** Robert Walter Dickson Leslie started his military career as a Lieutenant in the RAMC in 1906. He served in Crete and Malta before the outbreak of WW1. He ended the First World War with the rank of Major. He retired from the army in 1941 with the rank of Major General.

Rare WW1 British MK1 Steel Helmet with Cruise Visor, the helmet has a rough textured paint finish over the early apple green paint. Interior of the helmet has the early pattern liner system. To the front of the helmet is the fitted chain mail visor with linked chains that fit to the wire posts on each side of the helmet rim. Some flaking to the oilskin liner and wear to the paint finish but generally very good overall condition.

Accompanied by a EIIR period Royal Engineers officers service dress cap, Royal Artillery officers field service cap with bullion badge, London Fire Brigade helmet, French naval cap and two early WW1 vintage brown leather flying helmets. Various conditions, some mothing to the caps. (6 items)
WW1 Imperial German Medical Officers Field Grey Tunic being a Litekwa pattern tunic. Double row of polished brass buttons to the front. Red piped collar with red piped blue collar patches. Officers pattern shoulder boards with gilt rank pip and medical cipher. Fine quality cloth to the tunic. Very good overall condition.
Scarce Czech Legion Tunic, of green wool and white metal tunic buttons. To the breast are medal ribbons for WW1 service. White and red silk collar badges. To the arm is a unit identification patch and three rank / service stripes. Good condition lining showing just a little service wear. Some mothing to the tunic but still in good condition.
Great War Officers Full Uniform, consisting of Royal Engineers cuff rank tunic, complete with brass regimental tunic buttons, overseas service stripes to the lower cuff. Bronze collar badges. Small style WW1 medal ribbons pin to the chest. Tunic is accompanied by a pair of officers whip cord breeches. Displayed with a selection of WW1 period equipment including Sam Browne belt and cross straps, officers field binoculars in 1918 dated leather case, haversack, map case, pistol holster, ammunition pouch, riding crop, officers brown leather boots, water bottle (post WW1 period), lanyard and 1916 dated trench whistle. The tunic is also complete with an early pattern officers peaked cap with short peak. Set is mounted onto a display mannequin (female). Sadly the tunic and breeches are severely damaged by moth, the worst of this is covered when displayed with the equipment. The leather equipment also shows some wear and is dry in places.
Royal Flying Corps Maternity Pattern Uniform, consisting of plastron front officers whipcord tunic, with leather trim to the cuffs. Tunic has bronzed officers collar badges. Now fitted with a later post WW1 single rank pip to the shoulder boards, WW2 period Royal Flying Corps pilots wings and medal ribbons for WW1 service including the Military Cross. Some replaced buttons. Royal Flying Corps pattern side cap with single button to the front, brass other ranks style cap badge. Officers style breeches, brown leather sam browne belt and single cross strap and officers walking cane. Set comes with display mannequin. This grouping sadly suffers from some heavy moth damage to all parts.
Royal Army Service Corps Officers Service Dress Tunic, with bronze officers collar badges, three rank pips to the shoulder straps, brass regimental buttons to the front and pockets. WW1 and WW2 medal ribbons to the breast. Accompanied by two 1949 pattern battle dress blouses with insignia for the Monmouthshire Regiment and Royal Signals. All three uniforms suffer from moth damage. (3 items)

Metal rank insignia to the shoulder straps. Accompanied by a pair of service dress trousers. The set remains in good condition overall.

Comprising – 2 infantry Officers and 9 privates all in scarlet tunics. 11 privates of the Camel Corps dismounted with rifles, blue tunics. 2 Officers and 8 privates of dismounted cavalry with blue tunics. Also French WW1 infantry comprising 2 Officers in dark blue tunics, 2 standard bearers and 28 soldiers with rifles at the slope all in blue greatcoats with red trousers. VGC A few heads loose.
