A replica Edison coin-slot phonograph, with Edison Standard mechanism, unusual four-minute gear attachment, H reproducer and replica oak Edison Bell cabinet with curved glass lid, 15in. wide, 16in. high, with replica brass horn. Note: The four-minute gear attachment, pivoted on the feed-screw shaft, was probably made by the Premier Manufacturing Co. (makers of Clarion cylinders); a similar device was made for the Gem. The case, with its traditional dovetailed joints, was copied from an early example thought to have been cased by Edison Bell before the Edison Excelsior was imported. The machine has been exhibited for many years as part of Ron Armstrong’s display at steam rallies.
