A matched set of Meissen porcelain groups allegorical of the seasons and modelled after the originals by Johann Joachim Kaendler, Spring modelled as a couple with a garland before a cage, nest of chicks and a basket of flowers, Summer as a garlanded lass playing a lute besides a lad seated on a sheaf of corn, Autumn with a bare foot piper with a female companion placing a garland of fruiting vine upon a goat and Winter with a lad seated on a sledge of firewood, his female companion warming her hands on a brazier, each on oval bases, blue crossed swords, incised G.91, G.92, G.93 and G.94 respectively, 16.5 cm high, some minor professional restoration.
