A framed large and atmospheric Marine Oil painting on canvas laid on board, believed to portray Genever smugglers in early times with sailing vessels approaching the coast as storm force on-shore winds render navigation fraught with danger under the threatening sky. On a promontary men are seen loading a barrel onto a sledge drawn by a heavy horse whilst other figures manhandle barrels and men in a long-boat approach a moored vessel. 37" x 51 3/16" approx.
