A pair of ornately mounted porcelain plaques, French late 19th century, each of oval form, one painted with a man fishing, accompanied by two females, the second with three figures netting birds, one carrying a basket of roses, all depicted in 17th century dress. Both plaques mounted in cast and chased ormolu frames, moulded with concentric bands of beading, acanthus, fluting and acanthus and reel moulding, surmounted by tied ribbon finials. Marked ‘Rouilly’ in red to reverse. One restored. Plaque 17cm. Total width 21cm.
