A vintage overcoat in the Chinese style. Full length sleeves with two button fastenings. The pink silk blend fabric woven with floral decoration, with a pink silk lining, L143cm Condition Report: Multiple spots of discolouration on the interior and exterior. The seams under each armpit have split and the lining has also torn underneath one. Some rubbing to the fabric (mainly on the back). Would benefit from a clean. The lining has separated from the woven fabric around the neckline. No obvious restoration or repairs.

A Chinese silk embroidered skirt and overcoat, Qing Dynasty, 19th Century, the overcoat in red with dragons chasing flaming pearls amongst clouds incorporating gold and silver thread, vibrant chevron border to base, the turquoise pleated skirt embroidered with stylized panels of dragons and exotic birds, overcoat 160cm across shoulder, 98cm high (2). Provenance: Private collection, Janet McCorkindale Scott (1909-2005) thence by descent. Note: Janet McCorkindale Scott was a keen embroiderer and was Chairman of the Glasgow Embroiderer's Guild. She was given the collection of what appeared to be ornate Chinese embroidery and clothing items by a fellow member of the Guild. She gave the collection to her daughter-in-law, who is also a keen embroiderer in the late 1990's

PARKER' below the rainproof pans (both cocks broken, one frizzen missing its face, actions at fault), sliding safes, walnut full-stocks with slab-sided bag-shaped butts, brass furniture and captive iron ramrods (one ramrod throat absent).
