There is rubbing to the gilt highlights throughout (including some loss to the design at the base of the neck) most noticeably to one handle where the gilt has worn through revealing the porcelain (see images) and some discolouration to the cobalt blue areas. Two very, very feint hairlines around the base of each of the upper handles, where the handle meets the body, these do not appear to be surface reaching and on one side extends up around the side of the handle (see additional images for further clarification of this). The body shows fine surface scratching in places, but no visible crazing. The enamel colours are generally strong and bright, but there is some evidence of enamel wear to the black areas of the butterflies. The piece is grubby and would also benefit from professional cleaning. PLEASE NOTE: due to the nature of the shape of the piece it is impossible for us to see the interior of the lower section of the vase. Condition reports are intended as a guide only and it is strongly recommended that bidders should satisfy themselves as to the condition of this piece prior to bidding.
