Condition Report: Two Mintons bowls with blue/gilt rims; one example with a large clean crack running through. comport with blue border with roses; surface wear and scratches, old breaks to legs. Green oval posy holder; numerous cracks terminating from the rim into the body, minor losses from the cracks, old repair to one section, wear to paintwork and gilding throughout. Blue oval posy holder; numerous cracks terminating from the rim into the body of the piece, crazing to the glaze. Green comport; light surface wear and scratches, minor rubbing to gilding. teapot stand; surface scratches and wear. miniature circular plate; surface scratches and wear. comport with landscape decoration; surface scratches, wear to the gilding, otherwise good. Chinese ginger jar; firing fault to top rim, hairline crack terminating from top rim into the body.  

MINTONS; a pair of hand painted cabinet plates, 'Balmoral Castle' and 'Abbisford', each signed by R G Keeling, a Cauldon hand painted and gilt decorated cabinet plate by A Winckle depicting fish, a Worcester hand painted cabinet plate and two further hand painted cabinet plates, decorated with exotic birds and with scalloped edges (6). Condition Report: Fish plate with very minimal losses to jewelled decoration. Abbisford plate with a large open crack.  each piece with minor rubbing to gilding and decoration.

Herbert Wilson Foster (act 1872-1917), watercolour on paper, Nude with Lute, signed in pencil lower right, 20.2cm x 26.7cm. Foster was well-known as a painter and art teacher, teaching Laura and Harold Knight at the Nottingham School of Art. He was also well-known as a porcelain artist and worked at Mintons from 1872. He worked at one point on the tile panels in the Victoria and Albert Museum. This is probably a design for Mintons. Provenance – from the collection of his nephew

A Mintons majolica tazza, 19th century, modelled as a pierced basket raised above three putti representing hunting, fishing and growing, on trefoil base with scrolled acanthus leaf feet and fruiting vine embellishment, impressed maker's mark and '540' to underside, 32cm high (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The piece shows a discoloured repair to the basket approximately 12cm wide, and a further repair approximately 6cm wide on the opposite side of the basket.  The interior shows an area of stained surface crazing.  The body shows some firing pits and frits, and the odd small glazing fault, but no obvious chips or cracks.

A continental majolica sardine dish and cover, 19th century, the body with integral stand, the cover with handle modelled as a pair of fish, 11cm high; with a similarly decorated Wedgwood majolica serving plate, impressed maker's mark to underside, 33cm wide; a Mintons preserve jar and cover modelled as an orange, 11cm high; and a Fortnum & Mason honey pot modelled as a bee skep, 12cm high (at fault) (4)
