A MMGS-ROYAL ARTILLERY GT WAR TRIO. A 1914/15 Star named to 124 Gnr E G Sloggett M.M.G.S. British War & Victory Medals named to 124 A.Cpl. E G Sloggett MMGS-RA. Eric G Sloggett served firstly with the Machine Gun Corps, in France from the 29/5/1915. The Officer Commanding the Motor Machine Gun Service forwarded his claim for the 1914/15 Star 22/3/1919. MIC lists him as being awarded the India General Service (1908) Medal and Afghanistan NWF 1919 Clasp. His address is given then as a barracks at Ambala India.

Enlisted 14/12/1915, Silver Wound Badge awarded under Para 2 392/Xv1 K R Class. P Army Res awarded Pension, Discharged 30/9/1918. A lot of details are on his MIC, he received a Gun Shot Wound in the left leg.
MEDALS TO THE LAW FAMILY IN WW1 & WW11. A 1914/15 Trio to the father, 1743 Cpl J Law KRRC. British War & Victory Medals named to 1743 Sjt J Law KRRC. Serving in France from 18th May 1915, later as a Sjt in the Machine Gun Corps, later still as a Sjt attached the Kings African Rifles. His sons WW11 group of three medals, all unnamed as issued. 1939/45 & Africa Stars, War Medal. Able Seaman CJX335709 James Frederick Law born C1923, the son of James and Evelyn Florence Law of Peckham London. Killed in Action serving on SS Benalbarach sunk off Algiers January 7th 1943, with the loss of 410 lives. The younger son of James and Evelyn Law born in 1927, joined the Royal navy as a Boy 2nd Class in February 1942. Awarded the 1939/45 Star, Atlantic & Burma Stars, the latter with Pacific bar. Photocopied details of Frank Lionel Law's Naval service 1942-47 are with the group.

Also a scrap album with letters and POW documents regarding absolute obedience to the Japanese 'Dai Nippon Gun'. Sailing to first Africa thence Java where surrender upon arrival took place, 3rd March 1942. Prison Camp notices, Tandjon Priok Camp and British Orders to bow when the Japanese are present etc. Any Prisoners sitting when a Japanese Officer appeared were to leap to attention and salute in the prescribed manner. Letter and notes from other fellow Prisoners from Australia etc, he received after the Japanese Surrender. How to rejoin civilian life monies due, etc. Repatriated Prisoners of War in Canada on the way home, behaviour etc. Official paperwork for his Returned POW's etc.

Ornate engravings to furniture and action, platinum touchhole and gold escutcheon plate of W Bond London in the barrel top. 47.1/4" overall length.

(William) Parrott served in France with his Regiment from the 23rd May 1915. Later under number 50703 with the Machine Gun Corps Cavalry. Class Z Reserve 1919.

A Gt War Memorial Plaque named to Frederick Hembury. 8172 and later 16357 Pte Frederick Hembury was Killed in Action aged 24, whilst attached to the Machine Gun Corps Infantry. The son of Mr & Mrs Henry Hembury of Godney Moor, Wells, Somerset. Also entitled to a 1914/15 Star, having served in France & Flanders from 28/4/1915.

Light Infantry entitled “The Wolseley Cup Team”, a fine large studio photo of a Sergeant of 2nd Sussex Artillery Volunteer Corps in full dress with 4-bar QSA, c.1902, a shooting team of 26th Kent Rifle Volunteers, c. 1878 in busbies, posing with table full of silver shooting trophies, a young member of the 2nd VB Royal Sussex Regiment, c.1907, a shooting team of 1st VB Hampshire Regiment in slouch hats, posing with silver trophies, a group of officers of 1st Tower Hamlets Rifle Volunteers in scarlet full dress with blue cloth helmets, dated 1887, on reverse of album page a Gardner Gun battery from same battalion, clearly visible on their shoulder straps “1” over “TH”, a fine group of 4 officers from same unit in Torin caps and field service caps dated 1894, a very large format photo of an officer of 2nd Royal Surrey Militia with shako on table (crease to top right corner), a group of “B” Company, 3rd VB Royal West Kent Regt.,1903, a large glazed and framed photo of a Rifle Volunteer unit by a Stratford photographer, c.1890 and 3 other photos.
