UTAGAWA HIROSHIGE (1797-1858) AND OHARA KOSON/SHOSON (1877-1945) Edo period (1615-1868) and Meiji era (1868-1912), mid-19th century and early 20th century Two prints of various formats: the first a chuban yoko-e of Karasaki yau (Night Rain at Karasaki) from the series Omi hakkei (Eight Views of Omi), published probably by Aritaya Seiemon, signed Hiroshige ga, 18.9cm x 25.5cm (7 7/16in x 10in); the second a shikishiban by Koson, depicting a monkey crouching on the branch of a willow tree, published by Daikokuya, signed Koson with seal Koson, 24.1cm x 24.8cm (9½in x 9¾in).
