OHARA KOSON/SHOSON (1877-1945), KITANI CHIGUSA (1895-1947), AND TSUCHIYA RAKUZAN (1896-1976) Taisho (1912-1926) to Showa (1926-1989) era, early 20th century Three prints of various sizes and formats: the first, a chutanzakuban yoko-e by Koson depicting two palanquin bearers walking along a riverbank guided by a flaming torch held by a man in front, with a publisher's seal Kokkeido sei, circa 1910, signed Koson with a seal Koson, 12.8cm x 36.8cm (5in x 14 7/16in); the second, an oban tate-e by Chigusa, depicting the heroine Ochiyo in Sunju yoi goshin from the work of the famous playwright Chikamatsu Monzaemon (1653-1725), signed Chigusa 45.2cm x 30.1cm (17 13/16in x 11 7/8in); the third, an oban yoko-e by Rakuzan depicting a lobster and clam shells, signed Rakuzan Koushisei 25.3cm x 38.4cm (9 15/16in x 15 1/8in).
