OHARA KOSON/SHOSON (1877-1945), TSUKIOKA KOGYO (1869-1927), AND OTHERS Meiji era (1868-1912), early 20th century Four shikishiban and one otanzakuban print depicting birds: the first and second by Koson, comprising one otanzakuban of two domestic ducks and one shikishiban of two geese in flight in front of the full moon, both published by Daikokuya and signed Koson with a seal Koson, 33.8cm x 18.4cm (13 5/16in x 7¼in) and 21.2cm x 23.5cm (8 5/16in x 9¼in), respectively; the third, a snipe among reeds by Seiko, signed Seiko with a seal, 23.3cm x 24.5cm (9 1/8in x 9 5/8in); the fourth, a pair of pigeons by Gekko, signed Gekko with a seal, 23.2cm x 24.8cm (9 1/16in x 9¾in); the last, an eagle perched on a pine branch by Kogyo, signed Kogyo with a seal, 23.4cm x 24.5cm (9 3/16in x 9 5/8in); all framed and glazed.
