THE WHO - a cancelled gig poster from 1967 for a performance schedule for Saturday 23rd December at the Royal York Hotel, Ryde on The Isle of Wight. This is extremely rare and possibly the only one in existence. Previously undocumented this concert was cancelled by the band as Pete had "cracked one of his fingers that week and couldn't play". They also had to cancel the huge all nighter "XMAS on Earth continued" gig at The Olympia for the same reason. Measures approx 10" x 15" and presented in 14" x 20" frame. Includes letter of provenance on the reverse.

Lot includes a 1965 handwritten and signed letter from Terry Sylvester (in original envelope), letter to the band signed by them, a mini-poster signed by the band, four promo postcards (one signed), a fan club card, 54 photographs taken by the vendor (and to be sold with copyright ) plus a box of newspaper and magazine clippings relating to the band. The photographs have been taken out and about around Liverpool and also include them playing in The Cavern - twelve of these photographs have been signed on the reverse by various band members (2 @ Cavern signed by 3, 4 x Mike Gregory, 3 x Pete CLarke and 3 x Terry Sylvester).
