An Art Deco etched and cut glass decanter or scent bottle, circa 1925, waisted cylindrical drum form, fluted to the lower section, engraved with Pierrot and Pierrette holding hour glasses, in a garden scene with horse and other figures, 12.5cm high Note: possibly the work of Edward Hald for Orrefors, the scenes depicted are probably from Ernest Dowson's poem The Pierrot of the Minute, originally illustrated by Aubrey Beardsley
Sonja Blomdahl (American, b. 1952). Handblown glass sculpture in orange, lemon-yellow, and blue. Signed and etched 1407 along the underside. She is well-known for her use of the incalmo or "double bubble" technique which involves fusing together two pieces of glass with the same diameter. She studied at Orrefors Glassworks in Sweden as well as with Dan Dailey at Dale Chihuly's Pilchuck Glass School.Provenance: Distinguished corporate collection, Minnesota.Height: 20 in x diameter: 12 1/2 in.Condition: There are no apparent chips, cracks, losses, or restorations. Very light wear along the underside, consistent with display. There is a small piece of museum wax affixed along the underside.
AN ORREFORS CLEAR GLASS DECANTER AND STOPPER WITH MOULDED GEOMETRIC DESIGN TO THE BASE, remnants of paper label and etched mark to the underside, together with a set of six Royal Brierley 'Bruce' pattern tumblers and another five smaller tumblers in the same pattern (12) (Condition Report: the decanter has small nibbles as does the inner rim of the decanter, all the glasses appear to be in good condition)
Edward Hald for Orrefors, Sweden, a clear engraved glass vase, first designed in 1939, of slightly panelled form, decorated with fish and bubbles, signed 'OF HA1939', 13.5cm high; together with a Simon Gate for Orrefors Sandvik, Sweden 'Astrid' glass decanter with flame stopper, topaz colourway, first designed in 1923, unsigned, 39cm high. (2)Notes: Sandvik pieces were not marked or signed, but this piece corresponds to catalogue no.G521/11.Condition:Good condition with no cracks or chips, but with scratches to both the interior of the vase and to the base. Some small nibbles to the stopper and a few scratches to the interior of the neck of the decanter. Some light mossing to the underside of the foot rim. No cracks or chips.
