* Lawrence (Thomas Edward, 1888-1935). T.E. Lawrence in RAF uniform, seated on his Brough motorcycle, registration 'RK 4907' ["George V"], prob. 1926, contemporary reproduction black and white photograph showing Lawrence in profile seated on his stationary motor-bike on hardcore in front of some scrub grass, his cap shading his eyes, right foot on clutch pedal, the horizon level with his shoulders, pencilled inscription in Lawrence's hand to verso, 'At Cranwell, Kennington Coll [?]#29' and underneath, 'Negative here', possibly in another hand, 106 x 151. mm. Very similar, but not identical, to an image sometimes reproduced from a photograph held in the Bodleian Library. See, for example, p. 194 (and dust-jacket) of Malcolm Brown & Julia Cave's A Touch of Genius: The Life of T.E. Lawrence (Dent, 1988). In that photograph Lawrence's face is more open and his right foot placed on the ground. (1)

A Longton Hall figure of Summer. CIRCA 1758. Modelled as a youth seated on a tree-stump holding a sickle and corn, in pink jacket, patterned waistcoat, pale-yellow breeches and brown shoes, a wreath of corn in his hair, on a scroll-moulded mound base enriched in puce and applied with corn (restoration through neck and to both hands, chipping to extremities and to edge of jacket). 5 in. (12.8 cm.) high.

With a richly-gilt scroll and flowerhead handle, painted with a circular three-quarter-length portrait of a man wearing a red cap and blue jacket, within a tooled oval cartouche and with a border of tooled stiff-leaves, reserved on a richly-gilt ground (some rubbing to gilding) (2).

Wire to another larger telephone for child to use, action bell rings telephone lights up, picks up receiver, hear him talk. Boxed, minor wear for age, toy VGC minor wear.
