The first book, with the dust-jacket price of 7/6 is commonly presumed to be a later issue (the first issue bound in pictorial boards and matching jacket priced at 6/-). However it is possible that the two variant bindings were issued simultaneously, with the more robust cloth binding priced higher to reflect the higher production cost. (3)

The incredibly scarce first edition dust-jacket. This copy is a few millimetres shorter than the usual red cloth binding, an example of which can be seen in the previous lot. (1)

Some chipping of the encrusted flowers and leaves. Actress - old discoloured restoration to neck. Neither figure with any modern professional restoration
