watercolour on paper, signed and dated '93 mounted, framed and under glass image size 53cm x 75cm, overall size 77cm x 98cm Note: Edward Gage was born in Gullane, East Lothian, and studied at Edinburgh Collage of Art. He had a varied and distinguished career as a painter, illustrator, stage designer, writer and teacher. He taught at Fettes College, Napier College of Science and Technology and at Edinburgh College of Art. He was art critic of ā€˜The Scotsmanā€™ from 1966-95, and provided illustrations for a number of publications including ā€˜The Radio Timesā€™. He was president of the Scottish Society of Artists from 1960-4 and in 1992 he made an MBE for services to Scottish art.
