Original vintage advertising poster for Lotus & Delta Shoes "Now Autumn wraps a cloth of gold about the woodlands. A month – and Winter will strip the boughs, black – like burnt-out embers" Lotus & Delta Shoes make walking a pleasure. Great illustration by the British artist Michael Reilly (b. 1898) featuring a scenic Autumn view of trees in the woodlands with leaves falling and deer in a clearing, the framed text in the top right corner in stylised black letters against a grey background. Lotus Ltd (named after the beautiful white Lotus water lily flower found on the Nile Delta; 1814-1998) was a high quality shoe and boot company started in Stafford by Thomas Bostock in 1814; the family opened their first shop in 1926; the company was sold in 1970 when the last Bostock family member retired; after various acquisitions (including by Debenhams and Marks and Spencer) and heavy competition the company closed down in 1998. Horizontal. Good condition, folds, creases and light staining on margins, backed on old linen. Country of issue: UK, designer: Michael Reilly, size (cm): 68.5x100, year of printing: 1930s

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. We use Royal Mail special delivery with insurance for postage in the UK and signed and tracked service where available with a maximum insurance of £250 for international shipments. Over-sized posters (over 80cm) are shipped by UPS.
We aim to dispatch items within 1-3 working days, delivery to UK addresses usually takes 2-3 working days. Delivery to international addresses varies depending on destination and usually takes 7-10 working days.
