A LARGE SCENIC CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER SNUFF BOTTLE, LATE QING DYNASTY Cinnabar lacquer on metal body, possibly bronze. China, late Qing DynastyDecorated with scholars, their attendants and a fisherman in a tree-lined, mountainous retreat with a river in the foreground. Deep relief, the background with occasional patterns of meander and geometric flower petals en miniature.Shape: Bold globular formHollowing: StandardMouth, neck and lip: Cylindrical short neck, decorated with two rows of scrolled leaves, narrow mouthBase: Oval shape with distinct rim, surrounded by one row of scrolled leavesStopper: Matching with deeply carved blossom décorHeight of the bottle with stopper: 8.2 cmWidth of the mouth: 6 mmWidth of the neck: 29 mmCondition: Mint condition.
