1836 Sir Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington, signed 'Freepost' envelope. An envelope hand signed by the soldier and statesman, born in Dublin. As a Member of Parliament, Wellington was allowed to use "Freepost, to avail of the service he was required to hand sign the front, as with this example. Framed with an engraving of Wellington." 14 x 10in. (35.56 x 25.40cm)
