Pair of Federal Ball-top Brass Andirons and a Later Wire Mesh Fire Screen, possibly New York, c. 1805. Pair of andirons with ribbed sphere and conforming finial cast together with ringed pedestal base, mounted on tapered column open at rear to receive stepped iron billet bars, and riveted to spurred cabriole legs raised on ball feet, together with a 20th/21st-century woven wire and bar iron screen with brass handles and rounded top, andiron wd. 9 1/2, dp. 19, ht. 16 1/2 in.
