MICHAEL CARDEW (1901-1983) for Winchcombe Pottery; an early earthenware bowl, Galena glaze with white slip interior, impressed MC and pottery marks, diameter 18.5cm. Provenance: Purchased in Harrogate, 1982. CONDITION REPORT: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
RAY FINCH (1914-2012) for Winchcombe Pottery; a square press moulded stoneware dish, wax resist decoration, rust glaze coated with black and lime green speckles, 31 x 32cm. Provenance: Purchased from The Peter Dingley Gallery, Stratford-upon-Avon, 1976. CONDITION REPORT: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
RAY FINCH (1914-2012) for Winchcombe Pottery; a small stoneware ginger jar and cover, black glaze, height 9cm; a stoneware twin handled jar and cover, black glaze with lime green speckles, impressed WP. mark, height 14cm; a stoneware bowl of matching decoration, impressed pottery mark, diameter 18cm (3). CONDITION REPORT: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
CHARLES TUSTIN (1922-1996) for Winchcombe Pottery; two slipware soup pots and covers, black slip with white trailed decoration, impressed CT and pottery marks, height 9.5cm; a mustard pot and cover, white slip with black trailed decoration, impressed CT and pottery marks, height 8cm (3). CONDITION REPORT: One of the soups has a chip to underside of lid and flea bite to rim; mustard has flea bites to lid and rim, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
A collection of Studio Pottery wares including a Winchcombe Pottery jug with cream glazed band to the top rim, with seal mark to lower section, a similar jug with impressed seal mark, a blue glazed Studio Pottery bowl with incised mark to base Lamorna, a glass paperweight in the form of a brown owl, etc
Ray Finch. A Jug and bottle-shape Vase, both with part tenmoku glaze and wiped design. The jug (c1980’s) impressed with Winchcombe mark, was loaned to Ray Finch for a retrospective exhibition. The vase (unmarked) purchased at Winchcombe Pottery 2005 and confirmed there as one of only a handful of pieces made by Ray Finch that year (2)
