A Mettlach Villeroy & Boch stoneware stein by Christian Warth, the hinged lid with scrolling metal thumbpiece above main body incised decorated with a couple within foliate scrolls signed C Warth above a spreading circular foot, impressed marks to base, no.1734, height 33.5cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: The lid is in two sections and there are a few tiny chips where the two sections meet. There is a 1cm x 3mm chip to the foot rim, a couple of firing flaws to the main body but otherwise OK.
