A LATE VICTORIAN GARNET AND PEARL RING, the emerald cut garnet collet set within a surround of eighteen uniform pearls, in turn set within a stepped outer surround set with twenty-nine large uniform pearls, all set in heavy closed back mount raised between moulded circular shoulders on a tapering band. Ring size L. Weight 14.3 grams.
Percy Telford RA RSA (British, 1895-1971) A leather case containing a number of original works and items of ephemera from the artist's studio, including two oil portrait paintings on board, an oil on paper portrait of his wife, and sundry sketches, together with two gelatin silver photographic portrait prints of the artist himself by court photographer Vandyk of 41 Buckingham Palace Road, signed by Vandyk, and a photograph of the artist in his 9th Royal Scots military uniform etc. Born in Bolton, Lancashire and the son of a policeman, Percy Telford demonstrated early artistic talent and went on to study at The Royal Academy. As well as being an exceptional painter, Telford was also known as a talented print maker and poster designer.
