DEXTER - DEXTER (2006) - Dexter Morgan's (Michael C. Hall) SFX Scalpel and Straight Razor - Dexter Morgan's (Michael C. Hall) SFX scalpel and straight razor from James Manos, Jr.'s Dexter. Dexter, a forensic technician for the Miami Metro Police Department, hunted fellow serial killers with his blood spatter analysis instruments throughout the series, including when he tortured Mike Donovan (Jim Abele) with his scalpel in the series premiere episode "Dexter."This lot comes from the collection of renowned special effects artist Tom "Brooklyn" Bellissimo. It consists of a stainless steel Thermo Electron 745 surgical scalpel and a steel Magic straight razor, both with clear plastic SFX blood pipettes glued to their undersides. Both instruments exhibit adhesive and blood residue, while the razor's pipette has come loose. Dimensions: (largest) 24.25 cm x 1 cm x 3.25 cm (9.5" x 1.25" x 0.25")Blades were dulled by production.Edged, bladed or blunt object; see notice on Blades in the Buyer's Guide. This lot comes from the collection of renowned special effects artist Tom "Brooklyn" Bellissimo. After 15 years of exile, Todd returned to Fleet Street, where he used his straight razors to cut the throats of his victims. The straight razor has remained cursed by its synonymy with the musical and its status as the signature prop from the film. Designed by prop master David Balfour, this stainless steel blade features a unique bas-relief design of an angel, based on illustrations by William Blake, as stated in the film's making of book by the same title.
