1953 BSA C11, 250 cc. Registration number HI 8834. Frame number BC10/S4/4891. Engine number BC11. 8850. BSA's 'C' range of lightweights was first introduced in 1938. Its first exemplar was the C10 sidevalve single with coil ignition and three-speed hand-change gearbox. A de luxe version with foot-change gearbox joined the range in 1939, as did the overhead-valve C11. The original girder front fork was replaced by a telescopic unit in mid 1946, and part way through 1949 the C10 gained an alloy cylinder head. From 1953 onwards both models became available with plunger rear suspension and a four-speed gearbox, and for 1954 were further updated with alternator electrics, becoming the C10L and C11G. HI was originally registered in Eire on the 22nd August 1953 and appears to have been first registered in the UK by Michael Fink of Sunk Island, Hull in January 1974, before moving to Ronald Jackson in the April, Antony Holt and then Peter Mann in the October before our vendor bought it for £125 in June of 1979 as one of his first machines. It was little used as a 350 cc Gold Star arrived and replaced it as his daily ride. Stored ever since for sentimental reasons it is now being sold as he realises he will never restore it. Please note that the V5C has the frame number as BC10/54 when it should read BC10/S4, a plunger frame with four speed gearbox. Sold with the V.E.60, the 1979 receipt, a V5 and the V5C, it will require full restoration.

Jeff Koons - Balloon Dog ( 1995 ) - The Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles -A porcelain cast with shiny glazing in red and silver. With edition note on underside, they're typographically titled and inscribed as well as numbered. Limited edition 445 / 2300 copies. Measures 26cm diameter and protrudes 11cm out. Executed in 2002 and published by MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) Los Angeles. Kitsch and commerce have been at the centre of Jeff Koons' creative work since the 1980s. For example, the artist confronts us with oversized porcelain figurines, some of which are of survival size, with the icons of our everyday world. Michael Jackson or the Pink Panther are thus exaggerated to cheesy devotional of our media culture. Likewise, Koons` famous `Balloon Dogs`, with their shiny, perfectly flawless surfaces - as in our work - embrace the exaggeration and monumentalisation of the everyday as an artistic concept. The glossy surfaces, reminiscent of packaging material or shiny decorative items, celebrate and expose at the same time the beauty and superficiality of our commercialised everyday world.

Johnny Meeks - 1965 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. L5xxx9; Finish: Dakota red, refinish, minor checking, various light blemishes; Fretboard: maple, rare maple cap with "A" nut width stamp; Frets: generally good, but with visible dent wear to the first position; Electrics: working, green bottom pickups appear original, cloth wire to original CRL three-way switch and pots which all appear to date to 1965, areas of resoldering, replaced capacitor; Hardware: earlier type green guard scratchplate, original screw holes visible on body underneath the plate, tin backing shield with holes in the correct place for year, so most likely original to the guitar, two replaced pickup covers, replaced decal; Case: 1960s Fender hard case; Overall condition: fair * Originally owned by USA guitarist Johnny Meeks ( 16 April 1937 - 30 July 2015, a former member of Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps. A longtime member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Blue Caps in 2012. He was an accomplished guitarist who played on several Gene Vincent tracks, including "Lotta Lovin'" and "Say Mama," which Meeks wrote. When the Blue Caps broke up in late 1958, Meeks joined the Tune Toppers, followed by the Champs. He went on to perform with Merle Haggard, Elvis Presley and former Monkee Michael Nesmith. This guitar is sold with a copy of facsimile documentation dating to 1997. Written by Meeks, it states that he sold the guitar to a friend, a Mr. Jackson, for a favourable sum of $2000 and that he was "hurt and disappointed" that Mr Jackson had sold it on. Also included it a facsimile copy of a picture showing Meeks with the guitar, also signed "To Peter Johnson, Keep on Rockin, Johnny Meeks 'Blue Caps' guitar, 6 April '97". It is thought that Meeks made a custom order to have Fender make this guitar for him with an 'A' width maple cap neck
