Two Abuja pottery bowls by Michael Cardew , with abstract line decoration, impressed Abuja and Cardew marks, 34cm and 31.5cm diameter, one with hairline crack (2) Cardew worked at Abuja, NIgeria 1952-1965. Exhibitions of this work at Berkeley Galleries, London 1958,1959, 1962 and Lagos, 1960. Pupils included Ladi Kwali. The vendor`s husband met Cardew during this time and they became great friends.

A Winchcombe Pottery slip decorated vase of ribbed form in shades of brown, by Michael Cardew, with impressed monograms WP and MC, height 32.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: No significant damage noted, there is some pitting to the glaze just beneath the upper rim, there are two minor sections of the lowest rib where the glaze has not quite taken, some very minor crazing visible to the inide, but no chips, cracks or signs of restoration

Three pieces of Winchcombe pottery possibly Michael Cardew to include a tall jug, a bowl and a small vase, all impressed with PW seal, the bowl with an extra indistinct stamp, (3) the jug measures 31cm high Condition report: crack to the small vase, chips to the inner footrim of the bowl (possibly from manufacture) with some fading to the glaze, overall crazing to all pieces.
