A Meissen Porcelain Flower Encrusted Vase and Cover, late 19th/early 20th century, with floral knop and twin scroll handles, painted with sprays of flowers within naturalistically modelled and painted foliate borders on a circular socle surmounted by a cherub with a basket of flowers, crossed swords mark struck out, 74cm high. The cover is broken and stapled through the waist of the spire and with various losses to the applied work. The base has three firing cracks to the rim, loss to the applied work and a chip to the foot of the lower putti.
A Gardner Porcelain Figure of a Sbiten Vendor, early 19th century, standing wearing a black top hat, blue coat and white apron holding a kettle and chequered bag, on a scroll moulded mound base, impressed and painted marks, 19cm high See illustration Having settled in Russia in 1764 as a timber merchant, Englishman Francis Gardner founded Russia's first privately owned porcelain factory near Verbilki in 1766. Initially producing Meissen influenced ware, the factory became well known in the early 19th century for producing figures in traditional Russian costume. The current figure is of a street vendor selling Sbiten, a spicy and sweet drink made with honey, water, spices and jam. For a similar figure see Christie's, London, 27 November 2017, lot 310. Repaired through neck. Both kettle and bag with sections of handle missing. Kettle also missing spout and with wear to gilding. Chips to corners of basket. Some loss to painted decoration.
DERBY; a set of four 18th century figures of the four Continents, 'America, Asia, Africa and Europe', each with titled gilt scroll and with pseudo Meissen marks, incised no. 200 marks and bearing paper label detailing the collection of F.R. Briggs no. 96, height approx 22cm.Provenance: From a private Worcestershire collection.Additional InformationEurope, restoration to the gilt, torch in the left hand also the left arm, small area to the cornucopia, to the tip of her hair, to the scroll the sticks out the right of the figure, to the leaf decoration at the reverse of the figure, rubbing to the gilding, restoration to the crown at her feet. Asia, has restoration through the neck, upper torso, the hair at the back of the figure, her right hand arm and urn she is holding, to the left arm, camels neck, losses to the green scroll beneath the camel. America has restoration to right hand, the gold bow, left hand and the upper section of the quiver, also to the green bocage to the base, to the tip of two of the alligators toes. Africa, restoration to the elephant mask, to the face, the cornucopia, the right hand, losses to the green scrolls at the reverse of the figure, area of restoration to the left foot of the figure. All four figures have general surface wear and rubbing to the gilding.
DERBY; a pair of 18th century figures, a dandy wearing tricorn hat and his companion both on gilt heightened pierced scrolling bases, both with pseudo Meissen marks and incised no. 316, height of each 21.5cm.Provenance: From a private Worcestershire collection.Additional InformationHe has restoration through the tricorn hat, his neck where the head has been off, also left portion of chest, left hand and arm, the right hand and arm, the tip of the tunic, the bocage around the tree stump, a lot of this has been heavily restored, general surface rubbing to the gilding. She has been extensively restored to the hat, head, torso, left arm, right arm, also the bocage around the trunk base, also small sections of the gilt heightened scroll have also been restored.
MEISSEN; a late 19th century figure group representing autumn/harvest, the central figure surrounded by three putti, blue painted crossed swords mark to base and incised 'D3', height 19cm.Additional InformationThere has been restoration to the right hand and left arm. The cherub figure at the back of the figure has extensive restoration and the cloak is completely replaced. There are losses to the basket, presumably it would have had handles. There are small losses to leaves and flower heads and the sheaves of corn.

Minor crazing, very minor nibbles and losses to the applied decoration. Minor loss to one of the feathers in the hat.

She also has two vertical engraved lines below the crossed swords mark. He with loss to the tip of the hat and his arm has been broken from his body, also numerous chips to his cloak and to the base.

Heavy restoration to the bocage and leaf tips and also some of the fruits and floral sprays are replaced. The left hand brim of the hat is completely restored. The drunk figure has restoration to the hat, also to the grapes within the basket, underneath his neck, also to the handles to the flagon in his left hand and the tips of his coat, the leaves around the foot rim.

DRESDEN; a group of floral decorated wares including four saucers, two cups, pierced oval dish, four side plates with pierced borders, a small cachepot, a square sectioned cup and a damaged Meissen outside decorated plate.Additional InformationThe Meissen plate is badly damaged to the rim, is also double scratched through indicating it was outside decorated, the gilt is heavily worn. The other pieces show heavy signs of gilt rubbing and also rubbing to the black rim of the pierced plates. General surface wear throughout.

Rare Meissen figure group of figures having tea in bed with young child, the man looking under bed with dog beside. Blue cross sword marks to base. 20cm approx in length. (B.P. 21% + VAT) The back right leg of the dog has been broken off and not present. There is also damage and losses to the side of the bed near the ladies foot. Very grubby.
