Norddeutscher Präsentationsmörser von Johann Otto KrögerGoldbrauner Bronzeguss mit dunkelbrauner Patina, Gravuren und Ziselierungen. Glockenform, auf kräftiger, mehrfach profilierter und gekehlter Basis, der Rand weit ausschwingend und abgesetzt. Oberhalb der Basis ein breites umlaufendes Band mit filigranen Arabesken. Darüber, schauseitig zwischen zwei Profilleisten, der Auftraggeber und ein Sinnspruch in lateinischen Versalien: "EILARD OLTMANS WIL MICH GOT ERNEHREN SO KANES MICH NIEMAND WEHREN". Unterhalb des Rands der Gießer und das Datum: "M IOHAN OTTO KROGER HAT MICH ZV OLDEN BVRCH GEGOSEN ANNO 1684". Zwei plastisch ausgeformte Meerjungfrauen als Griffe. Der Rand in Stellen etwas berieben, Kerben und wenig Berieb. H 33,2, D 36,5 cm, Gewicht ca. 64,4 kg.Oldenburg, Johann Otto Kröger, 1684.Johann Otto Kröger (auch Kroger) war im Zeitraum 1670 - 1690 ein gut beschäftigter Rot- und Glockengießer im Raum Oldenburg und Umgebung und stand zusätzlich als Artillerist im Dienst der Stadt. Seine Glocken findet man heute noch in der niedersächsischen Gemeinde Cappeln oder im Kloster Blankenburg bei Oldenburg. Die Glocken, die er für die Kirchen in Schönemoor und Dedesdorf goss, wurden später umgegossen, lediglich die Inschriften sind erhalten (s. Rauchheld, Glockenkunde Oldenburgs, in: Oldenburger Jahrbuch des Vereins für Altertumskunde und Landesgeschichte, Oldenburg 1925, Bd. 48, S. 119/120).
