A collection of furniture comprising a small oak coffer with carved lunette decoration, a small vintage three tier set of steps, two Chinese style hardwood stools/occasional tables, an oak gate-leg table of small proportion, an oak Prayer stool, a mahogany Sutherland table and an oak and rush seated spindle back chair CONDITION REPORTS Rush seated chair only has wear to the arms and front spindle in particular. There are signs of worm, although it looks to be old, to the right hand facing arm, to the main supports at the back in line with the seat as well as some holes to the rushing and various other areas throughout. Chips, knocks, scrapes etc conducive with age and use. Unknown if rushing is original. See images for further details

A William IV walnut Wellington chest, of six graduated drawers with locking bracket and applied leaf carved brackets, on a plinth base 138 x 68 x 44cm (54 x 27 x 17in) Other Notes: First seen in the 1820s, the Wellington Chest was named after the Duke of Wellington's victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. These are tall, narrow chests, with usually six or seven drawers and often with a swinging locking arm which locks all the compartments with one key. The chest was one of the most well-known pieces of campaign furniture - furniture designed to be carried with ease when on army manoeuvres. There was a huge array of items which could be taken, from portable beds to collapsible candlesticks. In 1858, the Times reported that "Sir Colin Campbell's baggage &c. extended for eighteen miles, when he came down from Lucknow". A timber shrinkage crack to the top, scratches and overall fading
A Howard armchair, late 19th century, upholstered in original printed fabric, on turned front legs, stamped 266 - for restoration 70 x 73cm (27 x 28in) One of the most successful and fashionable furniture companies of the 19th century. Founded in 1820 by John Howard, they moved to premises in Berners Street London W1 in 1848 trading as "cabinet makers, upholsterers and decorators". They obtained patents for wood veneer used for parquet flooring and in 1866 obtained a patent for an "elastic seat", a re-design of traditional upholstery for sofa and armchairs. Their furniture won medals at International Exhibitions throughout Europe and notable commissions included Elton Hall, Stokesay Court and Mr Vanderbilt's yacht. They worked in a variety of fashionable styles, neo-Renaissance, Anglo-Japanese and Louis XVI. Examples of their furniture can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
