1776 Dated `Kentucky` Plains Rifle rifled octagonal 47 1/2 inch barrel. Slightly swamped muzzle with barley corn foresight. Ornate flintlock plate now converted to drum and nipple. The plate engraved with line border and foliage with date 1776 and maker C Grace within panels. Full stock tiger stripe woodwork with carved Chippendale style cheek piece and shell design to the barrel tang. Steel barrel wedges securing the barrel. Brass furniture floral engraved with square ended butt plate. Flip open patch box with top release button. Heavy trigger guard. Four octagonal ram rod pipes. Plain end cap. The patch box with outer brass inlaid wire work. Plain wooden ram rod. Percussion hammer now absent. Steel with dark patina.
